Resort-style oasis in the Goldfields of central Victoria.
A stunning architecturally designed house sits majestically on the beautiful hills of central Victoria’s Reedy Creek. The lacking ingredient for the newly purchased property was a place for homeowners to relax after a long day at work and many hours spent on the newly created farm.
Our clients were seeking a natural landscape that blended with its surrounds and wanted the pool to be a key feature but seemed as if it was meant to be there. Simple yet striking, the palette is soft and complimentary of the Australian rural setting. This award winning pool designed by Paul Pritchard Landscapes and built by Laguna Pools, was designed to enhance the spectacular 180-degree views from the house.
The furnishings create a resort like setting, and one can only imagine the late afternoon sunsets by the pool and the bush soundtrack as kangaroos congregate on the embankment. The views are priceless and the infinity edge seamlessly complements the wider outlook and draws the eye out towards the vista beyond, and although it was designed to add elegance and extravagance to the property, the pool and entertaining areas were created to enhance the views beyond and create comfort whilst soaking in the amazing views.
The residence was built with many large windows looking out onto the rolling hills. Lush surrounding gardens extend these to the house using native grass such as Lomandra ‘Lime Tuff’, Correa alba and Westringia fruiticosa. These plantings have proven to be immune to the hungry native fauna that frequently visit the property in search of rare, lush vegetation through the long, dry Summer periods.
The home is essentially “off the grid” so environmental sustainability was front and center on most solutions. Clever use of recycled water, considered heat solutions and high-performing equipment all play a part in this pool and spa. The calculated energy and power output was essential, our team worked with the conscious client to achieve a result that performed and supplemented their limitations. The power supply is purely solar driven, the amperage demands from all equipment need to be outlined and programmed to run within the capabilities of the site whilst maintaining the pool’s integrity.
