Brighton's coastal location can increase exposure to wind-blown debris, salt-laden air and seasonal leaf matter, making effective circulation and cleaning particularly important.
Every Laguna pool includes an in-floor cleaning system with pop-up nozzles that automate cleaning, improve circulation and reduce the need for manual vacuuming. Combined with proper water balance and filtration, this helps simplify ongoing maintenance and maximise time spent enjoying the pool.
Beyond ongoing maintenance, Brighton's bayside environment can also place additional demands on exposed materials and equipment. For this reason, Laguna carefully considers material selection, equipment placement and specification during the design phase to support long-term durability in coastal conditions.
Many Brighton clients are looking to make the most of outdoor living, with pools often forming the centrepiece of larger entertaining and recreation spaces.
Features such as integrated spas, dry moats, wet decks, automated pool covers and expansive entertaining zones are particularly popular throughout Brighton, reflecting the area's strong focus on outdoor living and entertaining.
Many homeowners are looking to strengthen the connection between the home, pool and surrounding landscape, creating a cohesive outdoor environment that complements the scale and architecture of the property. Rather than following trends, our focus is on designing pools with purpose, ensuring every feature contributes to how the space is experienced and enjoyed.
While Brighton property values are influenced by many factors, a thoughtfully designed pool can become a defining feature. In a suburb where outdoor living and entertaining are highly valued, well-designed outdoor environments are often sought after by buyers.
In many Brighton homes, this usually includes large-scale entertaining spaces, outdoor kitchens and integrated amenities and wellness spaces such as gyms, saunas and cold plunge pools. When designed cohesively, these elements can enhance both liveability and buyer appeal.
Laguna approaches each project as part of a broader outdoor environment, considering how the pool, architecture, landscaping and entertaining areas will work together. This creates an outdoor environment that complements the property and supports the lifestyle it was designed for.
Absolutely. Many Laguna projects combine pools with integrated spas, water features, outdoor entertaining spaces and landscape design to create a cohesive outdoor environment.
Our award-winning Clifton Hill project, recognised with multiple SPASA Gold awards including Spa of the Year and Best Pool and Spa Combination in 2025, demonstrates how spas, water features, dry moats, infinity edges and integrated cold plunges can be integrated into a single cohesive freeform pool design
Brighton's bayside location can influence both wind exposure and heat retention. During the design process, Laguna considers factors such as orientation, prevailing weather conditions and pool cover options to help determine the most effective heating solution for the property.
For many Brighton projects, energy-efficient heat pumps paired with automated pool covers provide an excellent balance of comfort, efficiency and ongoing running costs, helping to extend the swimming season throughout much of the year. Because every property is different, heating recommendations are tailored to the site's specific conditions and how the pool is intended to be used.
Having already completed more than 1,000 exceptional projects and backed by over 50 years of combined experience, Laguna is also the proud winner of several prestigious industry SPASA awards.
