For us at Laguna, designing for movement is about more than just form – it’s about creating spaces that support strength, fitness and recovery as part of everyday life.
Fitness looks different for everyone. For some, it’s lap swimming at dawn. For others, it’s a cold plunge after a workout, resistance training with a swim jet, or simply having the space to stay active at home. Whatever it looks like, our approach is always the same – to design with intention and create spaces that align with your goals and how you want to move.
From swim jets to tethers, cold plunges to zones for stretching and sauna recovery, see how we design pools that support movement – in all its forms.
Real Project Highlight: Built for Movement in Camberwell
Set within a compact courtyard in Camberwell, this Laguna pool and spa design proves that size has nothing to do with impact. Purposeful in every detail, this space was designed specifically for movement, recovery and daily ritual – with a clean visual flow from the rear deck to the water’s edge.
The homeowners, both busy professionals, wanted a way to prioritise health and wellbeing at home. Their brief was to create a pool that could support serious swim training without compromising the rest of their lifestyle. The result is a 5.2 x 3.3 metre pool fitted with a Remco SwimJet, allowing for resistance-based training in place – and year-round use, thanks to hydronic heating and a hidden, energy-efficient automated pool cover.

A shallow pool shelf offers a space to rest or stretch mid-swim, while the adjacent 2 x 1.3 metre spa creates a warm recovery zone just steps away. The layout is anchored by a timber deck, with room to move between zones and a natural connection to the home’s BBQ area – making it easy to shift from training to downtime.
A wet edge adds a sense of visual stillness, gently drawing the eye across the courtyard and enhancing the feeling of calm, even in motion.
For these homeowners, fitness is built into their everyday – in a space that works hard for its goals.
