On the Mornington Peninsula near the shores of Rye, this Laguna-designed landscape, featuring an exquisite concrete pool and spa, serves as the perfect place for entertaining and relaxing. The 10 x 3-metre infinity pool, coupled with a 2 x 2-metre square space, creates a captivating focal point in a vibrant, multi-textured backyard.
The pool, designed and built by Laguna, features a raised infinity edge and spa, both adorned with beautiful green Bisazza Alloro Blended Glass Mosaic tiles, contrasted with The Pool Tile Company’s Ash Grey tiles. These elements harmonise perfectly with the surrounding garden. Positioned for easy access from the home’s alfresco and decking area, the pool integrates seamlessly into the landscape – the advantage of designing both at the same time! Bamboo lines the side perimeter, providing privacy and seclusion. The spa is shaded by a steel arbour and the inclusion of black steel rod pool balustrades ties the space together with the home’s facade. A stone-cladded pillar stands as a striking structural piece, contrasting beautifully with the delicate tiles and the pool.
The lush garden, featuring vibrant pops of colour and diverse plant life, creates a vivid backdrop that ties in with the green accents of the pool tiles. Bluestone crazy paving, composite decking and scattered shrubbery evoke a beach-like feel, while an outdoor shower nestled in a garden bed enhances the retreat-like atmosphere with a touch of convenience.
Whether lounging by the pool or enjoying the outdoor TV, decompressing in the spa, or relaxing in one of the many shaded conversation areas, this modern backyard in Rye perfectly blends beauty, functionality and luxury – providing the ultimate place for gatherings with family and friends.
