In the heart of Malvern, Laguna has crafted a sophisticated concrete pool and spa, seamlessly integrated into a luxurious outdoor space. Collaborating with landscape architect Jack Merlo and house architects Powell and Glenn, this project epitomises elegance and modern design.
The rectangular pool, measuring 10 x 3.1 metres, features an integrated spa of 3.1 x 3.1 metres. Both the pool and spa are adorned with Bisazza Budapest tiles, showcasing a unique pattern of randomly arranged beveled square tesserae, creating a visually dynamic mosaic. The pool’s design complements the sleek lines and contemporary architecture of the house, while providing a serene haven for relaxation.
Nestled between the house and a tennis court, this outdoor area maximises available space to create a luxurious resort-style retreat. The clean, concrete lines of the pool area are softened by lush greenery and vibrant red flowers, bringing a touch of nature into the modern design. The use of glass balustrades ensures unobstructed views and maintains an open, airy feel. The seamless transition from the pool to the surrounding garden and tennis court is the perfect blend of functionality and aesthetics, and is enhanced by thoughtful features such as the stone-cladded pillars, which add a striking architectural element. The vertical garden, with its cascading plants, adds texture and life to the concrete backdrop.
Designed for both leisure and entertainment, this space includes comfortable lounge areas and an adjacent alfresco zone, perfect for cocktail parties and afternoon refreshments. The strategic placement of the pool allows for easy access from various parts of the property, enhancing its usability and appeal.
